My first experience with Dr. Sprinkles was Oct 20, 2002. At that time we had Lucy our loving but aging lab. Lucy was our love and we knew she was declining. By January 2004 Lucy was quickly loosing quality of life. She was treated for several weeks for comfort measures and February 9, 2004 we knew it was time. Dr. Sprinkles continued his compassionate care until she took her last breath and then shared our grief.
A couple of months later we again show up to see Dr. Sprinkles with Maggie another lab. Five months after that we show up with Gus, yes another lab. Dr. Sprinkles is laughing and shaking his head and asking us "what have you done".
Gus and Maggie are the only dogs that we have ever loved that also LOVE going to the vet and Dr. Sprinkles knows when they have arrived. He got us through the puppy stages. Then Gus managed to tear a cruciate ligament. Though we were very concerned about Gus we had every confidence in Dr. Sprinkles. The surgery was successful and Gus is doing great. This is only after chewing the stitches out the first night home, tearing up the Elizabethan collar, and wanting to do all the things that he shouldn't.
Now Dr. Sprinkles is opening Grace Animal Hospital. Even though it will be close to an hour drive we are willing to make the drive to have the continued loving care that we have become accustomed to.
If you are looking for a vet that will treat your pet with exceptional expertise, compassion, and professionalism then look no further. You will not regret your choice.
Respectfully,
Robbie W., Our beloved Lucy, Maggie, and Gus
I first met Dr. Sprinkles in June of 2002, when I took my newly adopted Yorkie, Madison, in for a checkup. Little did I know at that time how important Dr. Sprinkles would become to me and my furry family. The first “surgery” Dr. Sprinkles preformed on Madison was cleaning and pulling a few teeth. Not too long after that, Madison had a hernia and we found ourselves at the vet for surgery. Dr. Sprinkles did a great job and soon she was back to her old self. In April of 2003, I adopted a Senior Yorkie, Peyton. I took him to Dr. Sprinkles and he advised me on the pros and cons of adopting a senior dog. Of course, I adopted Peyton. Then, in June of 2003, a neighbor’s dog attacked Madison and I rushed her to the vet only to find that Dr. Sprinkles was working. He seemed like my angel that day. I was so upset, thinking my little girl was going to die and after a few stitches and a night in the hospital she came home, almost as good as new. Dr. Sprinkles personally called me after her surgery and again later on to let me know how she was doing. Not long after that, the lymph nodes in Madison’s neck were enlarged and I took her in for a checkup. I had no idea at that time just how much both Madison and I would see Dr. Sprinkles. He did everything humanly possible to figure out what was wrong with her. Could it be possible for a 3 year old dog to have cancer? October 31, 2004, Dr. Sprinkles called me with the news that yes, Madison did have cancer. He called me again that evening to make sure I understood what my options were. I took Madison for chemo in Charlotte and Dr. Sprinkles never forgot about us. In the middle of Madison’s chemo, Peyton and I were out walking and he started breathing funny. I rushed him to the vet in tears, thinking that he was dying, only to find Dr. Sprinkles working that Saturday. I remember he was eating lunch and jumped up to help Peyton. It turned out he had been stung by a bee. We all had a good laugh when I picked him up that afternoon. In June of 2004, Madison took a turn for the worse. She had been in the hospital in Charlotte for several days, and I knew it was time to put her to sleep. I didn’t want to make the decision alone, so I called Dr. Sprinkles. He took the time to talk to me and to let me know I was doing the right thing. That meant so much to me at a very difficult time. Madison was my heart and he knew and understood that. Not too long after Madison died, I kept thinking that Peyton was sick. Dr. Sprinkles never said I was overreacting, he took the time to see us and reassure me nothing was wrong, that Peyton was grieving too. I decided to go ahead and get a new dog to keep Peyton company. I wanted to buy a puppy so I could see where she came from. Dr. Sprinkles told me to bring the puppy in before I bought her and he would check her out for me. When I took Lexi in, he held her and said “you have no idea how good you are about to have it”. Fortunately, with the exception of a case of pancreatitis and dental surgery with Peyton and routine checkups with Lexi, I haven’t had to see much of Dr. Sprinkles in the last 2 years. When I found out he was opening his new practice, I cried, then I realized that he is only moving to Gastonia, so Peyton, Lexi and I will continue to have our beloved vet.

Everyone at Grace Animal Hospital has impressed me fully. I was originally
referred to them by a friend at work after hearing her many praises. Being
so close to my home, I was excited to know they were so convenient. My
family of animals have been in Dr. Sprinkles' care now for around two years.
I have made a believer of my parents and boyfriend. One particular pet of
ours was always very fond of my late father. Piper, a grey and white male
tabby cat, was always my dad's favorite cat and during dad's illness, they
would lounge together a lot. They were so close that every time my father
would be rushed off to the hospital, Piper would have sympathy pains with
his own urinary tract infections causing us to rush him to the kitty
infirmary while dad was hospitalized. Dr. Sprinkles and his staff would
always get Piper back on his paws and send him home with specific
instructions. Their fondness of our cat touched my heart and I have always
felt true compassion from them. My father battled cancer for over five years
and God finally took him home last month, December 2011. I will never forget
coming home after making funeral arrangements to find a message from Beth at
Grace Animal Hospital. She had called concerned of Piper's well being, as
they had heard of my father's passing. The thoughtfulness and care they
expressed for my family, as well as my dad's beloved cat, will never be
forgotten. I am so glad that my friend referred me to them. I recommend them
highly and will forever be grateful that my furry kids have the best care
imaginable. Thank you so much Grace Animal Hospital for the love you put
into your work. It is noticed and appreciated.
Lauren F.
